Size of establishment
The hosiery plants studied represent both large and small estab-
lishments. A larger proportion of plants with more than 500 em-
ployes than of plants with fewer employes was included in the study.

In general the larger plants were those manufacturing full-fagh-
ioned hosiery. One plant with 700 employes was manufacturing both
types of hosiery but the bulk of their product was full-fashioned
hosiery. Of the plants manufacturing seamless hosiery, none had
more than 250 employes. Table 6 lists the hosiery plants by size of
establishment and type of product.
