Prices of food are distinctly high in Remscheid. Representing the level of 
prices at Berlin by 100, the index number for meat prices at Remscheid is 107, 
and for other food prices 111. Combining these two figures with that for coal, 
which is 76, a general prices index number of 105 is obtained. The index 
number for rent and prices combined is 95, as compared with 100 for Berlin.
