der Zahl der Gesellschaften und dem Betrage der Kapitalserhöhungen 
nach, das Kapitalbedürfnis der Industrie am größten ist.

Wenn, wie die erste Tabelle zeigt, die Emission von Staats 
und Stadtanleihen eine so ganz andere Entwicklung im Wandel der 
Konjunktur durchmacht, als die Emission von Industriepapieren, 
so hat dies ebenfalls in erster Linie seine Hauptursache in dem 
verschiedenen Kapitalbedarf der Industrie im Wandel der Kon 
junktur und dem Einflüsse, den diese Konjunkturänderungen auf 
das Anlage suchende Publikum ausüben. Zeigt die genannte Zu 
sammenstellung doch, daß in den Zeiten einer aufsteig enden und 
guten Konjunktur die Emission an solchen Staats-, Stadtanleihen 
und dergleichen wesentlich geringer war, als unter ungünstigen wirt 
schaftlichen Verhältnissen. In den Jahren nach 1900, in denen die 
Emission in Industriepapieren sehr stark zurückgeht, nimmt die 
jenige an Staats- und Stadtanleihen erheblich zu und den gleichen 
Vorgang kann man auch in der Folgezeit beobachten. Eine ähnliche 
Entwicklung, wie diese öffentlichen Anleihen, macht auch der Markt 
der Hypothekenbankobligationen und Pfandbriefe durch. 
Die Betrachtung und Klarlegung dieses Zusammenhanges führt 
uns zu wichtigen Änderungen, welche im Wandel der Konjunktur auf 
dem Kapital- und Geldmärkte vor sich gehen. Die große Nachfrage, 
welche auf dem Kapitalmärkte von .seiten der Industrie bei günstiger 
Entwicklung der Konjunktur herrscht, bedeutet für die Emission 
dieser festverzinslichen Anleihen eine erhebliche Konkurrenz, die 
vor allem auch dadurch verstärkt wird, daß die reale Verzinsung 
von Industriepapieren, ganz abgesehen von den Gewinnchancen, die 
sio in sich bergen, wesentlich höher zu sein pflegt, als diejenige
