sxamined me, 1. Collodion cantharidal, mit pinceau tätowiert;
2. Arseniate de soude, mit bestimmtes quantum Wasser; 1 Suppen-
iöffel davon bei jedem Mal; 3. au cas de besoin, namentlich Nachts
o während Hustens, Suppenlöffel von mixture von codeine und julep
gommeux. Er kommt wieder in 8 Tagen zu mir; meine bodily
sxercises, mir vorgeschrieben, to keep within very moderate limits;
no real intellectual work except some reading for my distraction.
So bin ich in der Tat nicht a bit (rather a less zurück) früher at
5 London! Hence a man ought never delude himself by too sanguine
views!
Ich muß abbrechen, weil ich nach Algier zur Apotheke muß.
By the by, you know that few people more averse to demonstra-

Lieber Fred,
Ich erhielt gestern Deinen Brief, d. d. 25. Februar, nebst den
D[aily] News cuts (O0. K. tragisch-komisches englisch Staats-
5 und Herzgeheimnis). Ich hoffe, Tussy wird endlich ihre Gesund-
heit nicht frivol damit weiter wirtschaften; daß mein Cacadou,
alias Laurachen, stets blühend, weil sie vielen leiblichen An-
strengungen sich unterzieht. Von Paris noch keine Antwort mir.
Das Tempäte — c’est ici l’expression sacramentale — dauert
0 fort seit 26. Februar, obgleich unter stets variable aspects,
